Buzznet!

So apparently InternPartySystem has made it to Buzznet's featured videos section! We're all super stoked so obviously we had to share our excitement with you guys. Go here and scroll down to 'Video Buzz' and there is Court's face (no pun intended) staring right back atcha!

And check out this email we got there as well...

From

Subject you're on Buzznet homepage
Hi ladies,
I featured your video on the Buzznet homepage -- it is currently our "Video Buzz" item. Keep up the good work. We'll feature you more if we keep getting fun videos from y'all.
-- Meriah :)

Obviously we're not going to disappoint Meriah, as more ridiculous shit is going to come quite soon. Isn't that basically what Friday at the Stolen Transmission office means??

P.S. Guitar Hero III is HEAVEN, hello The Strokes and Muse!

We are serious business, Internet.

This is what happens when we're put in the Fishbowl room:

WHAT I DO IN THE OFFICE !!!!!!

Courtney made candied apples and brought them in .... I made the fatal mistake of setting mine atop a paper napkin ...
Rob Stevenson wasn't in today so I didn't have a great day ... Sarah is in Puerto Rico and I keep bothering her. We all actually got a lot of work done today despite my ridiculous photobooth pictures.

Todays playlist:
Cobra Starship.
Good Charlotte.
School Yard Heroes.
Joy Division.
Lilly Allen.

SHOTGUN!

Since Sarah is in Puerto Rico and Rob is in LA,
I shotgun Rob's desk for tomorrow. Let it be known.

SAKOWRS

Geez, I'm sooooo glad I only have forty more minutes to go at this REALLY boring internship at stolen transmission. Just kidding.

All I've done today is go on a wild goose chase for Sarah's lost cell. Only it wasn't so much a wild goose chase as it was a nice stroll down 8th ave.

Then Kerri [face] came to hang out and we've been covertly IMing about someone whose identity I shall not reveal ever since. So much for writing my David Bowie paper. Anyone who would like to give me commentary on the cultural and social influences of the androgynous and homosexual nature of Bowie's Ziggy Stardust era would be greatly appreciated. :D

And in across the pond bandy news. You NEED to check out the new Wombats single called "Let's Dance To Joy Division". It wins at life. end of story. check the myspace here

And speaking of Joy Division, if you have not yet seen the Ian Curtis biopic Control starring the amazing Sam Reilly, you really must. His frenetic Curtis dance impression is scarily perfect. Its playing at the Film Forum and its playing till Thursday November 1. So check the showtimes here and go see it, you silly fools.

Thats about it. Kerri and I are hitting up High Voltage tonight. And you should too. If only because Dimitry!!! has posted the internet flier all over creation.

So expect another post on Friday with (hopefully) some vidzzz. It shall be great. And look at our pretttty new banner thanks to the lovely Courtney.

Until then, au revior. I must go finish my paper before 11:30 or I can't go out tonight. Oh fuck it who am I kidding

xinternpartsystemx

PS if anyone can crack the acronym that is the post title, I will give you a million dollars. Unless you are Sarah. In which case I will not.

lunch on Bon

Why would we be posting these bios if we didn't think you, dear reader, would be interested in hearing about all of the amazing things that go down in the war room of ST? We would be is the answer. Therefore, I, your noble narrator will tell you the events that took place last Friday.

Firstly, Courtney, Lisa, Aimee, and I met our newest addition to internpartysystem: Kerri, who is painfully cool and awesome et ceteras. We subsequently commenced a crazed iphoto session. This was the only one we were all in. Barely.

Then Bon Jovi sent over pizza. Which was cool and hence the title of the post.

Then we went on acting quite silly in the war room. I walked into the men's bathroom by mistake. A good time was had by all. We soon decided it was time for a Red Bull break in Sarah's office. And that's when things got out of hand.

Firstly, Rob sat us down and had us listen to two songs and wanted us to tell him which song we thought should be the new single. He neglected to tell us, however, that they were BRAND NEW KILLERS SONGS. yayyerrrrr. They are coming out on the new b-sides album Sawdust on November 13. We heard the completion of the "murder tirlogy" "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf" for all of you who thought it doesn't exist. It does. It pretty much rules. Get excited. Sawdust also includes these tracks:

'Tranquilize'(With Lou Reed!)
'Shadowplay' (Joy Division cover!)
'All The Pretty Faces'
'Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf'
'Sweet Talk'
'Under The Gun'
'Where The White Boys Dance'
'Show You How'
'Move Away'
'Glamorous Indie Rock And Roll'
'Who Let You Go?'
'The Ballad Of Michael Valentine'
'Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town'
'Daddy's Eyes'
'Sam's Town (Abbey Road version)'
'Romeo And Juliet'
'Mr Brightside (Thin White Duke remix)'

annnnyyyyways. and THEN we watched the new Schoolyard Heroes video for "Dude, Where's My SKin?" I don't really know how to describe this video except that you might feel a bit nauseous after watching it. I'll just say it involves a sharp knife in very close proximity to the lead singers tongue. But when it comes out we DARE you to watch it...and you know you will...

Then we discovered that there was a huge Fall Out Boy cardboard cutout with the heads missing, so we dragged Sarah along to be the photographer. We have lives, we promise.

aaaaand that's about it. Who knows what will happen next week. But the rumor is it might include video recordings...stay tuned!

xinternpartysystemx

p.s. go check our myspace
www.myspace.com/internpartysystem

p.p.s. go check out the new Schoolyard Heroes album, Abominations. It be sweet.

you make me want to dance

I guess I'm going to copy my fellow internies and tell y'all a little about me in a survery shindig:

Name: Aimee Heather Rakowski

Most commonly goes by: Aimee, A, Tits (true story)

Location: New York City! And Long Island any other time.

How I got involved with ST: Sarah posting about the ST team needing intern peeps

Position at ST: Graphic design, updating websites, basically whatever they need me to do. Oh, and eating Bon Jovi's pizza.

Favorite ST Band: I think The Oohlas and Playradioplay. I've loved The Oohlas for a while and I just got hooked on Playradioplay a couple of months ago. But really, all of the bands are amazing and I could prob listen to them for hours on end.

Favorite musical artists: My musical taste is kind of wide spectrum but stuff I absolutely adore is... Sum 41, Nightmare Of You, The Fratellis, Muse, Head Automatica, The Strokes, The Sounds, Shiny Toy Guns, The Killers, The King Left, No Doubt, My Chemical Romance, Idlewild, We Are Scientists, Youth Group, and a bunch of other stuff...

Favorite Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, definitely. I can watch this movie probably fifty times and never get bored. I also love anything with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.... Fight Club, Wedding Crashers, Little Miss Sunshine, SUPERBAD!!!

Favorite TV Shows: Entourage, America's Next Top Model, House, Scrubs, Will & Grace re-runs, and probably my favorite show on TV right now? DIRTY SEXY MONEY. It's like the Royal Tenenbaums meets Gossip Girl and fucking blows my mind every week.

Favorite Books: To be honest, I am the hugest Harry Potter nerd I know. I grew up on the books and they were what really truly made me want to be a writer. It still fascinates me that JK Rowling could've thought of everything in them, I'm kind of convinced she's a witch forreals.... And if Remus Lupin were a real person, I'd be all over that hot piece of wolf ass.

Hobbies: Being loud and hilarious, dancing, singing, listening to music, going to shows, wasting money I don't have, watching movies I've already memorized the words to, hanging with peeps, reading celeb gossip online, and other general internet-y related things

MY TEN RANDOM FACTS!

1. I am Jewish, though I never finished going to Hebrew school and thus haven't been bat mitzvah'd. My family isn't hardcore Jew but we celebrate the holidays with each other. I've secretly thought about going to get bat mitzvah'd when I'm older but I have a feeling I'm going to marry outside of my religion, and that doesn't really bother me.
2. I'm going to NYU with a declared major in Journalism. My dream would be to do something in the music industry, and since I'm a good writer, I thought combining that with music could grant me the best of both worlds.
3. I have a heavy Long Island accent and I'm often teased by my non-NY friends for the way I say things such as "thought" and "saw"
4. I've never been to Europe would LOVELOVELOVE to go sometime in the near future. Picking where I want to study abroad is kind of going to be a problem.
5. I'm a coffee WHORE. I'll pretty much drink it at any time of the day, whenever it is available. There is a possibility I could live in Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks and be happy. Pumpkin spice lattes are my jam.
6. Like I said, I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd. I do the whole midnight movie and book release shpeels, and I cried hysterically after finishing the 7th book because it was all over. I just decided that I want my first tattoo to be the Gryffindor crest on the top of my right foot. As geeky as that is, you've got to admit it'll be pretty badass.
7. I love taking pictures. I bring my camera wherever I go, just so that if something noteworthy happens along the way, I can take a picture or a video of it. I really want to take a digital photography course in college and I'm going to fight for it next semester.
8. Thinking about space and the universe really freaks me out. We had to take Earth Science when I was in 8th grade and in class, we learned about how big space was and how you could get sucked in by black holes and be lost forever. And so it really weirds me out thinking about all that.
9. My first favorite band was Sum 41, who I started listening to when I was 11 or 12, and Cone (their bassist) was the reason I myself started playing bass in 9th grade. Now, I am 18 and finally saw them for the first time a few weeks ago and met them all after the show. It was awesome.
10. I have huge tits and friends who enjoy poking them and/or placing things in between them.

There's probably a lot about myself I'm leaving out, but the good thing about a blog is that you learn about someone through what they write. Therefore, prepare to be further enlightened by our coolness. I have a headache so I'm going to go sleep now (but obviously, posting in here was way more important).

Ps my favorite band of the moment is The King Left, who I saw open for Nightmare of You a few weeks ago. Check them out and buy their EP, it's only 3 bucks: http://www.myspace.com/thekingleft

that girl is like a sunburn ..

Name: Kerri O'Neill-Castellano

Most commonly goes by: Heykerri.

Location: Williamsburg:BK, NYC, and Long Island.

How I got involved with ST: I asked Sarah if she needed any interns one night at AK and she did ... oh and my manager is EricaAreI - that about says it all.
Position at ST: Social network site updater, phone call maker, anything they want me to do do-er.

Favorite ST Band: The Photo Atlas ... is ... sooo.. good .. (and Monty.)

Favorite musical artists: I guess I'd have to say Fall Out Boy - no shame. I also really love Third Eye Blind, Glassjaw, Bayside, Fugazi, and a bunch of other random shit.

Favorite Movies: Anything by Wes Anderson.. anything you normally have to watch a few times to understand.

Favorite TV Shows: Arrested Development & It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia .. but I never watch tv - only on dvd.

Favorite Books: The Philosophy of Andy Warhol, also anything by Wurtzel, Sedaris, Burrows, Kafka, Nietsze .. I have broad taste.

Hobbies: Music.

Ok, now here are 10 random facts about me. (they really are random, I will just type them as I think of them)
1. I actually have a Fall Out Boy tattoo.
2. When I was about 10 I was convinced that Madonna was my mother and I was switched at birth.
3. I deliver food to tables and make small talk at my other job, which isn't nearly as fun as sitting in the war room on my macbook.
4. I have a niece and she is the most important person to me in the world .. she also likes to eat dog food.
5.
6. I love to dance. All night.
7. I think that more people need to wear metallic clothing.
8. I live on my own & have been for some time.
9. I will never forget who you are and how we met
10. The way people perceive me, or process what they've heard about me based on who I know or what (they think) I've done, and who I really am are two completely polar opposites. Give me a chance, I'm really genuine.

That's kind of it.
I think you need to listen to Handshake Heartattack by The Photo Atlas
and go to www.myspace.com/theconsequence and listen to my friend JP's band because they're the shit.

peace & love
-K

Just Like She's in Another World

Wow...how to one up such a masterful bio by Miss Courtney? I'll just copy her I guess...

Name: Samantha Kristine Moore

Most commonly goes by: Samantha. Unfortunately, lots of people insist on calling me Sam. Which sounds like a mannish name in my opinion. C'est la vie I suppose...especially when they say my first and last name together: Sammoore. Sounds like a gooey campfire treat to me.

Location: Washington Square...although I've been seen lurking in many an NYC location

How I got involved with ST: I read Sarah's blog obsessively for like a year. Don't tell her that ;)
Position at ST: Social network site updater. Plus other random shit.

Favorite ST Band: Tie between The Horrors or Schoolyard Heroes. But since Court already took les Horrors, I guess I'll be the resident SYH fangirl. How could you not like a band that has a video of someone cutting their tongue out.

Favorite musical artists: Many many many. But it all comes back to Mr. Carlos Barat and Peter Doherty formerly of The Libertines. They made me believe in the Arcadian dream that music can change the world. I owe my love of music almost entirely to them.

Favorite Movies: Trainspotting. For some reason, I really seem to relate to heroin addicts in Scotland. Oh and Withnail & I as well. The best comedy no one has ever seen.

Favorite TV Shows: " I find television to be very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go in the other room and read a book." ~Groucho Marx

Favorite Books: anything by Charles Baudelaire

Hobbies: Writing, thinking, singing, talking MUSIC

1. My sister has Down Syndrome
2. When I was 12 I broke my nose at summer camp playing tag
3. I have the best Brit-dar know to man...i can practically smell them.
4. I founded the a cappella group at my high school
5. I am convinced I was born ten years too late and in the wrong country. 1978 in London would have done nicely, thank you.
6.My pet peeve is people saying the word retarded
7. In addition to this job, I also work at Starbucks on Bway and Bond. come visit me. I get lonely.
8. I wish I could play the guitar better
9. I have more posters than can fit on my walls. I also have a penchant for drawing on my walls in crayon. Thank god for Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
10. I am actually not that interesting since i can;t even think of ten facts about me

That's it. I'm too legit to quit. You just sit down and hear me out I will give you a shout about goin out, I drink water from a spout so don't get too much tile grout....remind me never to freestyle. ever.

Oh yeah, and give the new Babyshambles album Shotter's Nation a listen. It is made of win.

hello, i am court, and i am pretty much addictive.

so we are all going to post little bios about ourselves, and looks like i'm first =)
i wrote this on the bus ride from the office in NY back to my sleepy little town in Northern Jersey so i apologize for how lame and long it is.

Name: Courtney Erin M-C-M-anus
Most commonly goes by: Court, Courtface, Cuddah
Location: North Jersey (NY on Tuesdays and Fridays!)
How I got involved with ST: from Sarah posting about their need for interns on the interwebzzzz
Position at ST: graphic design intern/doing whatever Alex, Joanna, or Sarah need me to do
Favorite ST Band: it’s hard to choose, I genuinely love them all but my favorite are definitely The Horrors. I love how unique their sound is, and how they really don’t sound like anything else out there right now. Not to mention the fact that I love tall lanky men who dress in black and have killer hair.
Favorite musical artists: Every band on stolen transmission obviously, and I have a really weird and eclectic taste in music, some of my all time favorites include: incubus, no doubt, saves the day, Frank Sinatra, The Smiths, Morrissey, Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, the beatles, the matches, art brut, Beirut, razorlight, Interpol, Cursive, Circa Survive, Brand New, and a TON TON TON MORE. To see what I currently can’t get enough of you can check out my lastFM http://www.last.fm/user/court_face/
Favorite Movies: Beauty & The Beast is my all time favorite movie, I also love all Disney princess movies. No, I am not too old for them yet and I never will be. Other fav movies of mine are: ALL Audrey Hepburn movies as well as all Alfred Hitchcock movies, American History X, Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, The Outsiders, Factory Girl. Saved, Clueless, Mean Girls, Along Came a Spider
Favorite TV Shows: Friends, America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, The Office, Ugly Betty, Prison Break, Seinfeld. Thank god for tivo or else would probably never get to watch any of these shows!
Favorite Books: My favorite book ever is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, she is an amazing author and poet and I am pretty much obsessed with her. I also love Charles Bukowski, Dennis Miller, and Charlotte Bronte. The last book I just finished was Teenage Hipster in a Modern World which is a collection of epic jounalist pieces from the 80’s, notably an amazing piece on Sid Viscous; it is a must read for any music or journalism fan.
Hobbies: singing, dancing like an idiot in the car, silk screening, sketching, being with my family and friends, going to shows, finding new music, killing the internet

Ok, now here are 10 random facts about me. (they really are random, I will just type them as I think of them)
1. I am double-jointed in all my fingers and toes. This scares most people but I think it’s cool so everyone who doesn’t can just SMD
2. I am a singer at heart. While I love persueing a career in graphic design, my true passion is singing. I sang before I could speak and when I was 5 years old I went around telling people I wanted to be Gwen Stefani when I grew up. I took 5 years of private voice lessons and was in tons of choirs all throughout school. However, I love it too much to try and make a career out if it, plus I am not good enough to have people actually buy a record, haha.
3. I am a freshman in college, majoring in Graphic Design. I love it so hard!!
4. I own more clothes than any human should but I only wear about a quarter of what is in my closet.
5. I am from NJ, and while I love NY and it is where my soul is, my heart will always belong to Jersey. We have Saves The Day, Lifetime, Bon Jovi, AND 24 hour diners, so we win basically. Come to NJ, I will take you to a Diner at 3am, I promise.
6. I’m a March baby as are Lisa and Kerry. OBVIOUSLY, March is an awesome month.
7. I have had a reoccurring nightmare since age 4 where I am trapped in the dungeon from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
8. I have a sister who is 6 years older than me, and I pretty much owe my taste in music to her. She introduced me to No Doubt at age 5 and Nirvana at age 10.
9. I have an un-healthy obsession with Audrey Hepburn, Alfred Hitchcock, Roy Lichtenstein, Sylvia Plath, the 1920’s, and pomegranite.
10. Oh last fact, I have to make it good but I am on the bus going back to jersey and my head does not want to think right now. But … um… last fact about me is that I almost died from an allergic reaction to a medication when I was 13. YIKES!

Well, that’s pretty much all you need to know. I love when people come to NJ and let me their tour-guide, so come to my dirty little state and I will show you around! I also love people who love art, so if you are interested in going to the Met we can do that too. Basically I just love 99% of the people I meet, as long as you are not close-minded, judgmental, mean, rude, or racist, I will be your friend. I am often told I am way too nice, but I take that as a compliment. Oh but you should all know I am a Yankees fanatic, so you’ll have to deal with it. That’s it I guess!

BYEEE

oh and with every post I will tell you an awesome song that I am currently loving
right now: "dude, where's my skin?" by Schoolyard Heroes
www.myspace.com/schoolyardheroes
